Singing For Peace

We are SINGING FOR PEACE,

a group that offers our voices in the name of peace and justice to help renew the strength and hope of our listeners and ourselves. Singing gives voice to our firm conviction that a world without violence and domination is possible. We sing in the spirit of the Civil Rights, Labor, and other Freedom movements, where song was the heart and soul of people’s struggles for justice.

Peace is much more than the absence of war.

There will be peace when:

We treat all people as equals
Human and civil rights are protected for everyone
Laws are fair and applied equally to all
Our taxes go to schools and health care, not prisons
Women and children experience a sense of safety and peace both in the streets and at home
The ever-widening gap between rich and poor people and nations is eliminated; no one needs to sleep on the street or beg for food
Our connections to the earth and to all of life are a part of every decision we make
We see ourselves as part of a global family, working together for a lasting and just peace
